Carolyn Moore is a fourth-generation Californian whose deep connection to nature shapes her photographic vision. Raised in a family of artists and outdoor enthusiasts, she spent her youth hiking, swimming, and exploring California’s diverse landscapes. Although formally trained in music at UC Berkeley, the University of Oslo, and the Conservatory of Music in Norway, her creative focus shifted to photography in 2005. Introduced to art early by her father through paintbrushes and a Brownie box camera, Carolyn now works with both digital and experimental analog processes, including pinhole, plastic, and lensless techniques. Her work is held in private collections and has been recognized with numerous awards and juried exhibitions, including multiple shows at Soho Photo Gallery in New York, a solo feature with All About Photo, and publications in Color Magazine. She is a member of the Center for Photographic Art and Director of
Image Makers Photographers of Monterey.
When not composing photographs, you will most likely find her exploring nature, playing flute or drumming Brazilian percussion!
